Everyone has heard the saying “You can give a man a fish and feed him for a day, but you can teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.” We want this to be the theme of the educational program at Ann Ale. Up to this point our focus has been on medical education, with Crystal teaching at nursing schools and hospitals. We want to create an adult educational program that will allow us to teach people a vocation that will provide them with a means to care for their families. We would like to bring teams of volunteers to teach week long workshops on skilled trades such as plumbing, electrical, candle making, sewing, gardening, carpentry, soap making, masonry, etc. This is a chance for anyone with a skill to make a difference. The skills that we take for granted can bring hope and a sense of pride to someone struggling to provide for themselves and their family.
